Coupon Uploader

Table of Contents

Accessible via the Manage tab in the admin. Look for Coupon Uploads in the left-side menu.

With our coupon uploader, you can either load your own list of codes or have the system randomly generate them.

Using the Coupon Uploader

Step 1: Create a CSV of your preferred codes. When uploading your own list of codes, your upload must be in CSV format, with the codes in column one, and if desired, Coupon Name in column two. Do not use a header row in your CSV.

Alternative: allow the system to generate codes randomly for you.

Step 2: Decide if your codes are to be assigned to every event under the account or by event or price level.

  • When entering seller, event, or price IDs, you should only fill out one of the seller/event/price level inputs (i.e., do not enter a seller AND event ID).
    • Find the Seller ID on your Sellers tab in the admin
    • Find the event ID in the URL from the admin
    • Find the Price Level ID from the Inventory/Prices page in the event setup.
    • Coupon upload works with Event Series IDs. Enter the Series ID, and coupons will be assigned to all child events.

Step 3: Determine the type of codes you want to build (discount, presale, etc) and enter your terms into the uploader.

Random Generate:

  • The coupon name prefix will help you identify the coupons in the coupon list
  • The random code prefix will append the actual code with your choice of prefix.
  • Example:
    • Coupon Name prefix is SpecialGuest. You'll be able to search the coupon list for SpecialGuest and see only those codes.
    • Random Code Prefix is SG, and actual codes with be SG______, with the blank representing your 6-digit code.

Upload CSV:

Step 4: Enter your coupon limits

  • Total Usage Limit: the number of total tickets that all of the codes added together will be good for.
  • Per Sale Usage Limit: the number of tickets per order each coupon can be used for.
  • Start Time: when the offer begins
  • End Time: when the offer expires
  • Group Assignments:
    • This function allows you the flexibility to group all coupon uses over all events or to allow coupons to be used for the total usage by event.
    • Example: if I set the total use to 5, grouping would tell the system that I want those uses to be shared across all of the selected events or the event series. If I do not group them, the coupon could be used up to 5 times on each event individually.

Uploading a CSV will trump anything entered into the random code inputs.
