Don’t let hesitation lead to lost sales—give your customers more time to complete their purchases while creating a sense of urgency. With the Extended Cart Timer feature, you can customise the reservation window for ticket buyers, ensuring they have ample time to finalise their orders before their cart expires. This configurable setting within Event Listings allows you to extend the default timer by a set number of minutes, helping to reduce abandoned carts and boost conversions.

How It Works

A "Do you need more time?" reminder will appear when a cart reservation reaches its final minute, prompting the attendee to extend their reservation.

This reminder will only appear once per transaction. If the attendee chooses to extend their time, the additional minutes will be added to their current reservation.

If the attendee reaches the final minute again after extending, they will not be given another opportunity to expand further.

If the attendee does not extend their reservation, the cart will expire when the timer runs out, and the tickets will be released back into inventory.

Configuring The Timer

The timer is an advanced setting that can be customised for your event. You can disable the feature for your entire seller account or specific events.

 

Seller Level Setting

1. Navigate to Organization settings (from the top right)
   1. 
2. Select Edit Default Advanced Settings under Default Advanced Settings
3. Look for the following advanced settings:
   1. Allow Customers to Extend Reservation time
   2. Extended Reservation Time(Minutes)
4. Enable or disable the functionality for your entire seller account
5. If you wish to set a seller-wide default for the timer, change the value accordingly

Event Level Setting

1. From your event overview page, select Advanced Settings

   1. 

2. Look for the following options:
   1. Allow Customers to Extend Reservation time
   2. Extended Reservation Time(Minutes)
3. Enable or disable the functionality for your event(s)
4. Update the value of your cart timer
